SCUBA DIVING

Dive into vibrant coral walls to encounter turtles, manta rays and reef sharks.

Activity Overview
Certified divers can join guided scuba trips from the island’s resorts, venturing to deeper reefs rich in marine biodiversity. Dive sites often feature stunning coral walls inhabited by turtles, manta rays, barracudas, and reef sharks. Operators adhere to marine park regulations, ensuring sustainable practices, and provide equipment rental and PADI‑certified instructors for all levels. Pulau Babi Besar offers rewarding scuba diving experiences, especially for certified divers seeking to explore the deeper sections of the Johor Marine Park. The main dive operator is Batu Batu Resort’s Dive Centre, which is PADI-certified and provides full scuba packages including equipment, boat transfers, and instructor guidance. Popular dive sites include Pulau Hujung, known for its coral walls and large pelagics; Ghost Town Reef, a sunken coral site with diverse macro life; and House Reef, just off Batu Batu’s beach, where current is mild and visibility ranges between 8–15 metres. Expect encounters with turtles, reef sharks, schooling snappers, moray eels, and barracudas. Most dives are suitable for Open Water certified divers, but Advanced Open Water certification is recommended for deeper sites (18m+). Conditions are generally calm with light currents, especially in the morning. All activities adhere to marine park guidelines to ensure sustainability and reef conservation.
